7.1 How do you determine the order of events?
- Relative ages establish the sequence of events without establishing exactly when they occurred. Items or events are placed in order of what happened first, what happened next, and what happened last.
- Absolute ages establish when an event took place or when a feature formed. Absolute ages assign a specific age in years to an object, or states that an event occurred a particular number of years in the past.
