11.1 What do deformed rocks look like?
- Geologic maps and cross-sections
- Recall the sketch giving borders of rock types, strikes, dips, etc. That is a geologic map of sorts.
- Geologic cross-sections interpret subsurface geology based mainly on surface observations. It is made by drawing continuations of rock layers seen at the surface in the proper orientation, etc. One can think of it as the side view of a "slice" of landscape.
